Holistic

We understand that each individual has unique strengths and communication needs,  and will therefore require customized supports. Our services are tailored to each individual’s needs and environments to allow for involvement with their entire support team, in the environments that are the most important to them. Communication is essential in everything we do!

Play-based

We know children learn best when they are engaged. We use purposeful and meaningful play-based activities that allow communication to be intrinsically motivating. We follow the individual's lead and incorporate their interests into sessions.

Integrative

We are committed to providing our clients with the tools & technology they need to succeed. We have witnessed the ability of high-tech Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) in empowering individuals in their communication and independence. We are diligent in remaining a leader in this area for neurodivergent individuals.

Our Thoughts On

Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy

A colourful, abstract, infinity Autism symbol with pastel colours blending into each other.

At HAEPI, we are committed to connection over compliance. This involves:

  • using an individual's own special interests to guide therapy,

  • encouraging movement of bodies/stimming,

  • creating goals that focus on advocating for one's needs.

Moreover, we celebrate the strengths a child already has (instead of focusing on what is lacking) and allow each child to be their truest, most authentic self by working within while gently expanding their comfort zone.
